Regional Center SDP Assessments/Services
Regional Center Self-Determination Program (SDP) Funding
BEAM accepts payment through the California Regional Center Self-Determination Program (SDP) for eligible assessment and direct clinical services provided by licensed and credentialed professionals. Assessments/services may include psychological, speech-language, occupational therapy, educational, and augmentative assistive communication assessments and services, as authorized through the participant’s approved spending plan.
We partner with Self-Determination Program participants, families, and Regional Center teams to provide high-quality evaluations and individualized therapeutic services that support communication, learning, academic achievement, functional independence, and overall developmental progress.
Assessments/services are scheduled based on the participant’s individualized needs, approved funding authorization, and provider availability. Payment for SDP-funded services is typically processed through the participant’s selected Financial Management Service (FMS) provider.
Please note that use of SDP funding is subject to Regional Center approval, the participant’s available individual budget, approved spending plan, applicable SDP requirements, and FMS payment procedures. Families are encouraged to confirm service eligibility and funding authorization with their Regional Center service coordinator, Independent Facilitator, and Financial Management Service provider prior to scheduling services.
BEAM provides individualized training designed to strengthen the practical skills needed to manage everyday responsibilities and increase independence at home and in the community.
Services may address organization, planning, time management, developing routines, task initiation and completion, problem-solving, decision-making, self-monitoring, goal setting, self-advocacy, and successfully completing multi-step activities.
Recommended Provider Level: Bachelor's-Level Developmental Skills Specialist with education or experience in psychology, education, special education, child development, behavioral science, human services, rehabilitation, or a related field. Master's-level specialists may be utilized for individuals with more complex support needs.
